Finally getting a chance to continue on from my previous post after a busy few days, but now with the addition of stuff that's happened over the last few days.

First of all, I've finished Animorphs #40 and while I said two different times on this blog that I'd be next moving onto Megamorphs #4, I've decided not to do that for now. The reason being that at the end of the month, when I travel to London, it'll be 8-9 hours on a coach both there and back. So it seemed wiser to keep a good stash of the series I'm currently reading for the potential 18+ hours of travel. While I don't expect to finish Animorphs during this trip, I want to comfortably have enough of it left that I don't need to worry about running out. Fourteen books in the main series and two side-stories that I still have left feels like a good amount. Obviously, I'll be reading them digitally and not carrying that many books around. Since Animorphs has sadly been out of print for so long, digital was the only option I had anyway where there'd be even a slither of a chance that money for the sale of the books would get back to the author and not a resale scalper. :(

As for the end of last week, there was some work annoyance. There's another store on our "patch" that has the same manager as us and because that store is, well, awful, our manager often asks us if we'd be willing to go there and cover shifts they can't get staff for. I've lost count of the amount of times I've said "please don't send me there because I really don't like it". By now, I should know to just use the shorter "no" when asked. But I had two shifts there last week on days when I was supposed to be off and I have one more shift there this week, specifically with a person who I've asked not to work with for various reasons. Yay. The one this week was snuck in there without checking with me first and now my manager is on holiday and unreachable, but whatever, I've just gotta deal. I always say I need to work on being less passive, but I know I should be grateful that I have a job that I mostly like, after everything from Leeds, so I can't complain too much. It's just nice to have a space to vent.

In nicer news, on the day off that I did manage to get yesterday, my siblings and I had a day out at a market and then went to the cinema. It's rare these days that we get to hang out as just the three of us without my niece (though I like spending time with her as well), so this was nice. I didn't find as many gifts for upcoming birthdays at the market as I'd have liked, but I did find a (probably bootleg) Grovyle plush and a tiny little Cubone plush, so that feels like a win. As for the movie, my siblings both really wanted to see Sheep Detectives, which I'd already seen, but was happy to see again. I just like going to the cinema.

Oof, that's a long time on the coach! Hopefully having some reading to occupy your mind will help.

I'm sorry to hear about the work situation. That's really shitty, especially after you've asked specifically not to work with a certain person. I hope you get through the shift without incident.

Sounds like a lovely day out with your siblings!
